Two New Economic Grant Packages within Teignbridge are OPEN FOR BUSINESS

 

 

 

 

Sponsored by Teignbridge District Council and South Hams District Council, and administered through The Diverse Regeneration Company CIC, two new economic development grant packages have opened in South Devon Promoting the prosperity of the South Devon Coastal and Greater Dartmoor areas, the two schemes are able to invest in economic, environmental and community-based projects to encourage innovation, create jobs and help the rural economy to grow. In total, approximately £3,500,000 will be available to allocate to projects within the South Devon area, with the main focus being to:

  • Support micro and small enterprises
  • Support rural tourism
  • Support increasing farm productivity
  • Support increasing forestry provision
  • Provide rural services
  • Support cultural and heritage activities

There are two stages to the application process – an Outline Application and a Full Application. Teignbridge District Council and the Diverse Regeneration Company are able to advise and work with local companies to help local access to this funding opportunity.

Each project will be appraised individually but in general business must employ fewer than 50 employees and have a turnover of less than €10 million (c.£7 million). Normally applications must be for at least £2,500 and cover no more than 40% of project costs. The maximum grant will vary according to each priority. The size of grant awards will depend on; the type of project, size of business, and the costs involved.

Within Teignbridge District all Parish and Town areas are eligible other than Newton Abbot/Kingsteignton.

South Devon Coastal LAG and Greater Dartmoor LEAF are funded through the LEADER Programme which is part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) and is in turn part funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). The programmes are designed to benefit rural communities by stimulating economic growth, developing rural businesses and creating new jobs in rural areas.
